Ruud Kleinpaste - The Bugman

Today Ruud Kleinpaste - The Bugman came to our school to talk to us about how insects rule this world. Here are some interesting facts that I learnt.

-Researchers say that there is only around one million species of bugs discovered, while it is estimated that there is up to twelve to thirteen million.
-Pollinators contribute to making a third of our diet. (e.g: Steak comes from cows, cows eat grass, grass needs the pollinators to grow.)
-People actually eat bugs. Literally. They sometimes crush it up as a substitute for some meats. They are apparently quite nutritious. Gross.
-Hummingbirds are really tiny pollinators. On average they are 8.5 cm (Adult, from bill to tail)
-Poison dart frogs kill poisonous ants to extract their poison to use as their own.
